This meeting discusses the affairs of District 70, 71 and 80. If you'd like a taste of Regional Service, this meeting is for you!

All district meetings, where GSRs (General Service Representative) and alternate GSRs develop a group conscience for district business, meet the 2nd Sunday of every month @ 2:30 pm at:

  • Meets every Quarter
  • Next meeting will be October 8th, 2009 at 6:00pm at 1st Presbyterian Church.

  • Is responsible for carrying the AA message to jails and prisons in our area. This is critical service work. In many instances, we are the first AA members many of these inmates will meet.
  • We need volunteers.
  • We accept written correspondance from inmates and other interested parties at:

TFC (Treatment Facilities Committee)

  • Meets on the 1st Tuesday of even-numbered months at 6:45pm
    Next meeting will be August 5th at 6:45pm at Trinity Church.
    at Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 Church Street, Asheville, NC.
    Enter through the red door on the West side.
  • Is responsible for carrying the AA message to treatment facilities in our area. This is essenial service work. Most of these patients are fresh off their last binge. We are often the first members of AA they meet. Our example can help them get a good start on the road to recovery.
  • Neil Dobbin's Detoxification Center simply supplies a place to Detox. AA meetings are now restricted to residents and two outside AA people. A speaker and a chairperson from the AA community are needed. There will be weekly speaker meetings coordinated by Nancy E.R. She can be contacted at (cell) 828-778-6366 or (home) 828-299-1666 if you are interested in chairing or speaking.
  • Neil Dobbin's Detoxification Center, 283 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville:
  • VA Hospital 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville on the 5th floor (5 South)
    There is no requirement to attend this meeting except a desire to stop drinking. The VA Hospital has invited outside AA members to attend meetings. But the response has been slim. This meeting is not solely for AA's who have served our country. It is for all Alcoholics. If you can't make it yourself, please pass the word that there is need for support at this meeting.

  • ABCCM - This meeting began recently and needs support from all AA members. This meeting is held at the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry located at 207 Coxe Avenue.
    Monday and Wednesday 2:00 p.m.
  • The First Step Farm, 215 Black Oak Cove Road Candler, NC is a residential, long-term treatment facility. The Men's community holds a meeting every Wednesday night and all outside AA members are welcome to attend. The Women's community holds a Women only meeting on Tuesday night.

  • The JFK ADATC,, the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center, is an 80 bed (70 beds for rehabilitation, 10 beds for detox/crisis recovery) residential treatment facility in Black Mountain. The facility offers closed meetings for clients only. The opportunity for service with ADATC lies in the need for speakers to come and tell their story. A year of sobriety is the only requirement. If you have any interest in speaking at this facility, please contact your district CFC chair.
